About AIAA

Since its founding in 1955 by the visionary Sudarshan Gour, the All India Artists Association (AIAA) has been a cornerstone of Indian art and culture.

Built on the philosophy of “National Integration Through Art,” AIAA has brought together countless artists, performers, and audiences to celebrate the rich heritage of India. From theatrical productions to music festivals and cultural events, AIAA has provided a platform for artists to shine and for communities to connect.

Balraj Sahni National Award

Balraj Sahni Award – Instituted in memory of the legendary actor, this award acknowledges outstanding contributions to drama and theatre. In 2023, it was awarded to Shri Lokinder Trivedi.

Sudarshan Gour Kala Gaurav Samman

Sudarshan Gour Lifetime Achievement Award – The highest honour of AIAA, presented to artists who have devoted their lives to enriching theatre and performing arts. Recent recipients include Padma Shri Pran Sabharwal & Smt. Sunita Sabharwal (2025) and Shri Prashant Bhagat (2023).

Anup Jalota Awards

Anup Jalota Award- The All India Artist Association (AIAA), Shimla proudly associates its honours with Bhajan Samrat Padma Shri Anup Jalota, who has graced major AIAA events as Chief Guest and presenter. His presence has elevated the prestige of awards like the Sudarshan Gour Kala Gaurav Samman, recognising outstanding contributions to theatre and performing arts.

Young Achiever's Awards

The Young Achiever’s Award recognises emerging artists who show exceptional talent and promise in theatre, dance, and performing arts, encouraging the next generation to carry forward India’s cultural legacy.

Gopi Krishna National Award

Gopi Krishna National Award – Dedicated to excellence in dance, both classical and contemporary. In 2023, Ashish Pillai and Meenu Chadha received this recognition.
